Day 02 | AMMAN – PETRA – AMMAN (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) An interesting drive to the Nabetean City of Petra. Marvel the rose red city half as old as time. Walk through the awesome winding "Siq", an immense crack in the Nubian sandstone to the Treasury "El Khaznesh" one of the most elegant remains of antiquity carved out of solid rock from the side of the mountain. Day 03 | AMMAN – TIBERIAS (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) Panoramic tour of Amman. Cross the Jordan and Israel borders. Short drive to Jericho the city with the oldest known protective wall in the world; view the Mt. of Temptation and photo stop at the oldest sycamore tree in the area. Continue on to Tiberias |
Day 04 | TIBERIAS (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) Boat ride on the Sea of Galilee - here JESUS walk on water, rebuke the winds and calm the storm. Mount of Beatitudes - where Jesus preached the Sermon on the Mount . Church of the Multiplication of Loaves and Fishes which contains one of the most beautiful mosaic in the Holyland ; Mensa Christi believed to be the area where JESUS appeared to HIS disciples after HIS resurrection and gave Peter the pastoral commission " feed my sheep ";Capernaum center of JESUS ministry, visit the ruins of the ancient synagogue and Peter's house. Continue on to Caesarea Philippi (Banias), the famous site of Peter's confession of JESUS messiahship. |
Day 05 | TIBERIAS – JERUSALEM (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) Drive to Nazareth. Visit Mary's Well in the Church of St. Gabriel Greek Orthodox Church which according to tradition Archangel Gabriel appeared to Mary while she was drawing water from the well. To Gideon Spring (Spring of Harod) the pool where Gideon chose his 300 warriors to battle the Midianites; Muhraqa where Elijah defeated the prophets of Baal. Drive through Jezreel Valley to Caesarea -Herod's most ambitious project with fortified palaces, amphitheater , hippodrome and Aqueduct - which brought water to the city from the mountains 12 miles away. Jaffa. Visit Jaffa - the port of entry for the cedars of Lebanon used for the Second Temple. Drive up to Jerusalem |
Day 06 | JERUSALEM – BETHLEHEM – JERUSALEM (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) Strings of biblical attractions awaits as we drive to Mt. of Olives area for a panoramic view of the Old City of Jerusalem: Pater Noster - where JESUS taught his disciples the "Our Father" displayed in different languages to the Church of All Nations where JESUS spent HIS last hours of agony. Continue on to the "little town of Bethlehem" the birthplace of Jesus. Visit the Church of Nativity built over the grotto believed to be where JESUS was born. Day 07 | JERUSALEM (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) Enter Stephen's Gate to the Pool of Bethesda - where JESUS healed a paralytic; Lithostrotos a section of the original Roman pavement of the Antonia Fortress where JESUS was publicly tried' do the Via Dolorosa ending at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher - the most sacred place for the Catholics, believed to be the site of of the calvary and JESUS burial. To the Garden Tomb, located outside the Old City walls, Christians believe that this is the site of JESUS crucifixion and burial. View the Golgotha on the cliff of the barren knoll |
Day 08 | JERUSALEM (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) Short drive to Church of St. Peter Galicantu where JESUS was tried and imprisoned and Peter denied Him three times. On to Mount Zion to the Upper Room the area where JESUS and His disciples partake the traditional Passover meal. Visit the traditional Tomb of David. Enter the Jewish Quarters to Cardo the main street of the Old City of Jerusalem during JESUS time; Western Wall the holiest shrine to the Jews, revered as the last relic of the Second Temple. |
Day 09 | JERUSALEM (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) Start our day at Yad Vashem - Israel's memorial to the six million Jews who perished during the horrors of Nazi holocaust. See authentic objects from the ghettoes and concentration camps. Onto the Shrine of the Book which house the Dead Scrolls that were found in the caves hear Qumran. Model of Jerusalem Second Temple Period, the topography is an exact cop of Jerusalem during the time of JESUS. To the Friends of Zion Museum brings stories of love and heroism to the world in interactive displays that appear to come to life before your very eyes. |
Day 10 | JERUSALEM – DEAD SEA – JERUSALEM (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) Drive to Bethany where JESUS raised Lazarus from the dead. visit the traditional site of Lazarus tomb - to Qasr El Yahud - the area of the baptism of JESUS by John the Baptist Take a breathtaking cable car ride to Masada - Herod's magnificent mountain top palace and fortress, site of last Jewish stand against the Romans and mass suicide of its its 960 defenders. Qumran, where the Dead Sea scrolls were discovered which were hidden 2,000 years ago. An "unsinkable swim" on the lowest spot on earth, the Dead Sea. |
Day 11 | JERUSALEM – ST. CATHERINE (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) An interesting ride to Eilat. Cross the Israel/Egypt borders. Meet/ assist at Taba. Continue on to St. Catherine. |
Day 12 | ST. CATHERINE – CAIRO (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) This morning we visit St. Catherine Monastery - a 6th century monastery founded by Queen Helena standing on the site of the burning bush. Drive on Sinai, a land of flat desert expanses and towering granite. Brief stop at Springs of Moses, one of the springs is said to be the bitter spring of Marah Optional: Camel ride to Mt. Sinai |
Day 13 | CAIRO (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) Unveil the mystery of this ancient land as we visit the Pyramids of Giza - considered as one of the seven wonders of the ancient world built by 100,000 slaves in 20 years; Sphinx - colossal figure of human headed lion carved from one piece of limestone, was Egypt's symbol for 4 ½ millennia; Abu Serga Church - built over the cave that gave sanctuary to the Holy Family. Day 14 | CAIRO – AIRPORT (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) Visit Cairo Museum - home of thousand of ancient artifacts including the famous treasures of Tutankhamun. Pharaonic Village - built in ancient Egyptian style, inhabited by 300 Egyptians living in ancient Egyptian atmosphere.
