Things to keep in mind when visiting Zhangjiajie, China
Zhangjiajie National Forest Park (aka Hallelujah Mountains of Pandora in Avatar Movie) is one of the most picturesque and beautiful places to visit in China. But guys, it's also not the easiest place to explore, so we've listed some helpful tips for a safe, easy and most of all, fun travel experience!
Prepare yourself for a lot of steps
If you are looking for an authentic hiking experience you may be disappointed as most of the paths in this park are paved with stones and have steps.
Bring water and snacks
Take plenty of water, snacks, and fresh fruit as there's lots of walking to do. There are available food along the trails as well as at some peaks, but it's reeeally expensive..
Beware of the Monkeys
Be careful of monkeys on some of the trails as they may get aggressive and snatch food from your hands..
Pack right
A light coat, mosquito repellent, sunglasses, sun block, and a hat are a must during summer.
During winter, bring warm clothes. You will get warmer as you climb the mountains so layers are recommended for flexibility.
Avoid the crowds
Avoid holidays, try to visit the park on weekdays.
BONUS: The best time to visit the park is September and October, when the weather is comfortable, and it is not crowded in the park.
